Katt Lowe and the Othersyde debut self-titled CD is one of those totally relatable and catchy albums that you find hard to take out of your CD changer. Katt has the ability to take a heartfelt perspective on bad relationships, reminiscent of one of her influences Joan Jett, conveying simple worded lyrics and at the same time produce racy songs such as "U Can Have Me" and "Tonite" which go into in-depth details of a fantasy one night stand.

How long did it take to record the CD and what kind of guitar does she play?
"I would say about eight months," says Katt, "with mixing and mastering. We really took our time because we wanted it to sound right. I play a Fender Fat Telecaster. I love it! I have always been a Strat person, but I wanted a change. I am a Fender diehard, so I checked out this Fat Tele. It has Humbuckers, so I can have the heavy fat sound, and a Tele sound when I want it."

The album starts off with the mellow "Still N Luv" followed by album highlight "Make It Go Away" which is currently getting plenty of US radio airplay. "Long Distance Friend" is pop-rock perfection with a killer chorus. A delightful song called "Love Never Dies" showcases Katt's strong vocals and features some smooth guitar work by Alex Garofalides. On the raunchy T Rex-ish "Get Together Soon" Katt duets with Cherie Currie.

This CD is dedicated to The Runaways and is produced by good friend Cherie Currie. Cherie also co wrote two songs and sung a duet with Katt along with recognisable backing vocals and keyboards.
"I met Cherie through Sandy West," Katt says. "I met Sandy at a club one night...I

had played a week after her at the same club. We had a mutual friend who taped both of our shows, so when we got our tapes back we had each other's show on our tape...So, when we ran into each other she knew exactly who I was...She (asked) if I wanted to play with her. Of course I said yes, and the rest is history."
Any number of songs on this CD could have commercial success as singles if we lived in a fair world. You should check out Katt Lowe and the Othersyde if you like raw, well crafted songs as I guarantee it will not disappoint.
