The world knows Randy Castillo as either Ozzy Osbourne's drummer or Motley Crue's drummer. But I know Randy as Lita Ford's drummer. In 1983 my friends and I met Lita and her band. They were always approachable and very fucking cool. I remember being at some show the Lita Ford Band did at a San Francisco club and hearing two guys next to me talking about Randy.
I'm not sure if Randy invented this move but he's the first drummer I saw do it: as his foot pounded the floor tom he simultaneously pounded the side of his head with his hand. The one guy beside me was confused: "How's he doing that with his head??" It was classic.
